When the swell is just too big for me, one of the best spots to go and watch some really good surfers is Anchor Point, just north of Taghazout.

Anchor Point has to be the most famous surf break in Africa. Despite me living here for 6 years, I have never surfed it. It’s one of those places you need to know or have a really good friend to guide you, and to get your timing just right to get out in the surf – mostly launching off the rocks which does not favor longboards.

Anyway, rather than surf there, I would rather stick to my home spots (Banana Point) and just indulge in one of my other passions – photography.

When we lived in the UK, Karen and I were really fortunate to be involved in photographing all aspects of Premiership Rugby with London Irish and also Gloucester, so filming fast action and sports photography is one thing we are pretty good at.

Today there was a strong swell and some really good surfers out, so a trip to Anchor Point gave us the chance to get some really good shots

Hope you like them!
